This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the development, history, and culture of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer culture in the English-speaking world in the 20th and 21st centuries. In addition to explorations of theories of gender and sexuality, the seminars will primarily focus on North America, the readings and compulsory films will provide a broader perspective from Western cultures.
