This course discusses some of the most recent and exciting developments in the socio-cultural anthropology, such as new methods to study transnational communities around the world and new perspectives on tradition, folk culture, art, mobility etc.
It includes six complementary parts. All lectures focused on the most important ideas, methods and technics connecting with anthropological way of thinking about contemporary culture.
The aim of the course is to teach the students how to understand globalized cultures and how to use new anthropological methods of research and interpretation.
The course gives a complex, analytical skills and helps to understand and interpret the processes of cultural changes in the contemporary world.
The course provides the students with an anthropological knowledge and methodology to discuss the crucial issues of the contemporary cultures.
